World bosses are generally announced via World chat twice once 5 minutes before they spawn and once when they spawn. Each World Boss has a specific day of the week that they spawn, and players often farm them for a World Boss box (from which they may obtain a random item out of the list of things possible, items are normally around the same level as the boss) and reward points for themselves and/or their guild. World bosses, also known as emissaries, are bosses that are best killed by a big group of people, but the catch is that they only spawn once a week on each channel in their respective locations.
